Psalm 133:1 says, “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!”
During our Whitford Family Vacation to CA in December 2014, I had the honor to speak at the church where I served as the youth pastor for 6 years from 2004-2010.
Many times when staff members leave a place it is in duress and difficulty. Trust me, we’ve had our fair share of difficulties through the years in church settings, but I can honestly say we never left when things were bad. God gave us the grace to endure various trials and spiritual attacks, etc… until we were able to see it through to a place of health & healing, not just in any particular situation, but also within our own hearts and minds. I think this is one simple reason why we’ve had the honor to go back and spiritually invest in places we’ve already planted and watered in. Northeast Assembly of God not withstanding.
I believe we are still in heartfelt oneness with brothers and sisters in churches we are no longer on staff at because one of Jesus’ last prayers in John 17 was for His Church to be in UNITY! We take Jesus’ heartbeat in the category of unity in His Church SERIOUSLY, and by His divine guidance we have seen the blessing of that conviction.
As you will hear in this message I gave on December 28, 2014, Pastor Mike Bruton is one of the greatest pastors I’ve ever had the privilege of serving under and with. He is a man after God’s heart and hungers and thirsts for righteousness! It is a blessing to still be in Christ-centered unity with him. While this message is something I sensed was specifically for Northeast Assembly, there are Biblical truths I pray will bless and inspire any listener.
